Detailed Itinerary of the 8 day experience Gorilla chimpanzee and big 5 safari

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda – Kampala City Cultural Tour

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our Arcadia Safaris representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Kampala. In the evening, enjoy a cultural performance at Ndere Cultural Centre, showcasing Uganda’s rich heritage through music, dance, and storytelling.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, begin your scenic journey west to Kibale Forest National Park, passing lush tea plantations and rolling hills. Kibale is famed for hosting over 13 primate species, especially chimpanzees. Arrive, check in to your lodge, and relax.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Swamp Walk

After a morning briefing, trek through Kibale Forest in search of chimpanzees. Spend an hour with them in their natural habitat. Return for lunch and later visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, home to numerous bird species and primates like colobus and L’Hoest monkeys.

Day 6: Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions & Transfer to Bwindi

After breakfast, head south through the Ishasha sector to spot the rare tree-climbing lions. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to almost half of the world’s mountain gorilla population.
