Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After an early breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel or Entebbe International Airport at 6:30 AM. Following a short safari briefing, begin the 6-hour journey to Murchison Falls National Park. Your first stop is at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola for an exciting rhino tracking experience, where you’ll encounter both black and white rhinos in their natural habitat.

Continue with a short drive to Kabalega Dinners for a delicious lunch. Afterward, proceed to the park and head straight to the Top of Murchison Falls. Along the way, look out for warthogs, baboons, and other wildlife. At the falls, witness the mighty Nile force its way through a narrow gorge, a view that promises excellent photo opportunities. Later, transfer to your lodge for check-in, relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise on the Nile

Wake up early and enjoy a hearty breakfast. At 7:00 AM, set off for a morning game drive on the northern bank of the park, accompanied by your guide and a UWA ranger. Expect to see a wide range of wildlife, including lions, elephants, Rothschild’s giraffes, Cape buffaloes, antelopes, waterbucks, and various bird species.

Return to the lodge around midday for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise along the Nile River towards the base of the falls. This relaxing yet wildlife-rich experience offers close encounters with hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, and buffaloes along the riverbanks. Bird lovers will also enjoy sightings of African jacanas, bee-eaters, kingfishers, and possibly the elusive shoebill stork.

At the bottom of the falls, take in the stunning views of Murchison Falls. You may also choose to hike to the top of the falls, where your guide will meet you for the return trip to the lodge.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Return to Kampala or Entebbe

After breakfast, check out and enjoy one last morning game drive as you exit the park. This drive offers another opportunity to spot giraffes, lions, elephants, buffaloes, and various antelope species roaming the savannah. Capture your final wildlife memories before beginning the return journey.

Stop for lunch in Masindi or Kabalega Dinners en route. You’ll then continue to Kampala or Entebbe, arriving in the late afternoon, marking the end of your incredible 3-day Murchison Falls adventure.
